Q. How do I become a member?

A. First, check to see if you qualify. If you do, just complete and return the following:
  • Membership Application
  • $25.00 initial deposit
  • copy of driver's license
  • proof of membership eligibility
    Proof of eligibility can be satisfied in one of three ways:
    1. Employment eligibility - copy of a recent paycheck stub
    2. Residential eligibility - proof of residence in zip code 38017, 38018, 38138 or 38139
    3. Family member eligibility - signature of family member who is sponsoring you on your membership application

Q. How do I sign up for Internet Banking?


A. Visit our Internet Banking online access page to learn how to sign-up for a new account or access a current account. View account history, reconcile and create reports with this service. Sign up for the convenience of our unlimited Bill Payment service for free!

Q. How do I access My eZone

A.
For added security, My eZone has been integrated with Internet Banking.  To access My eZone, you will need to sign up for a free Internet Banking account.  Once you log in to Internet Banking, look for the My eZone tab.  Enter the account number and SafetyPIN of the account you would like to access.

Q. Where do I go to get my eStatement

A. You can sign up for eStatements, or pick up your monthly eStatement, check images or tax documents by signing up for a free Internet Banking account, then clicking on the My eZone tab.  Enter the account number and SafetyPIN of the account you would like view the eStatement for.

Q. How can I make deposits to my account?

A.
Deposits can be made in a variety of ways.
  • Direct Deposit or payroll deduction. Check with your employer regarding availability.
  • Visit any MATCU owned automated teller machine.
  • Send a check or money order by mail to

Q. How do I arrange direct deposit of my paycheck to MATCU?


A.
First, ask your employer if direct deposit is available. If yes, your employer will need the Memphis Area Teachers' Credit Union's routing number (284084907) and your account number to begin depositing automatically to your credit union account.

Note: Memphis Area Teachers' Credit Union has a direct deposit program to give companies the ability to offer direct deposit to their employees. For more information, contact the marketing department online or call them at (901) 385-5200.

Q. I have moved to another state and want to keep my account at Memphis Area Teachers' Credit Union. How do I access my account?

A.
You can easily access your account by
  • FREE access to Internet Banking. With Internet access all of your accounts can be at your fingertips 24 hours/7 days per week. With the optional unlimited Bill Pay service, you can pay your bills over the Internet, free.

  • FREE access to FAST LINE 24 via any touch-tone phone using our toll-free number (800-532-9025)

  • Using affiliated ATM networks for withdrawals and transfers

  • Using your Visa Smarty debit card anywhere Visa is accepted

Q. I would like to finance a car with MATCU. What do I need to do?


A. Visit our auto center page for more information and an online loan application. For your shopping convenience, we can issue a pre-approval valid for 60 days.

Q. What is MATCU's Routing and Transit Number?

A. MATCU's Routing and Transit Number is 284084907.

Q. My Smarty debit card is missing or has been stolen.  How do I protect my account?


A. Call MATCU directly at 901-385-5200 or 1-800-532-9025 if your debit card is missing or has been stolen. You can also report it stolen through My eZone located inside Internet Banking.  You must have a free Internet Banking account to access My eZone.

Q. There has been no activity on my account for five years.  What happened to the funds that were in my account?


A. As required by law, MATCU has forwarded to the State of Tennessee all funds $25.00 and greater from member accounts that have had no activity for the past 5 years.  All funds below $25 were transferred to the MATCU Reserve account.  For reclaiming funds less than $25.00, please contact us at 901-385-5200 or 1-800-532-9025.  To reclaim balances greater than $25.00, contact the State of Tennessee Treasury Department via the US mail, telephone, or their web site at:
